Looking for a new way to manage stress and improve productivity? Well look no further since Peer Wellness Coaching (PWC) MUSE appointments got you covered!
What are MUSE Biofeedback Appointments?
Within these appointments, you have access to a guided mediation app and a MUSE headband that provides real-time feedback about your brain activity. You can then review your results with a trained peer or staff. Over multiple appointments, you will be able to track your progress to improve calmness and focus.
How does the MUSE Headband work?
The MUSE headband is an electroencephalograph (EEG) device that uses sensors to monitor brain wave activity. The device then correlates this input into biofeedback data which allows individuals to learn to better control their body’s functions, such as heart rate. For instance, MUSE translates your mental activity into the guiding sounds of weather, teaching you how to rein in a wandering mind. Busy mind? Stormy weather. Calm mind? Peaceful weather.
The amazing thing about this type of feedback is that it can help gain understanding and awareness about your ability to directly impact your physical state, with your thoughts alone! The live feedback helps you focus on subtle changes such as breath, focus, and relaxation of certain muscles to help achieve specific results.
Benefits of Mediation on Emotional and Physical Well-Being
When you mediate you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and may contribute to your overall stress. Some of these benefits include:
Increased self-awareness
Focusing on the present
Reducing negative feelings
Lowering heart rate and blood pressure
Improving sleep
