Staying hydrated is crucial for keeping every part of your body working properly, but many of us struggle to drink enough water daily. Proper hydration is crucial for regulating body temperature, digesting food, preventing infections, and maintaining optimal brain function. Health experts recommend that women drink about 11 cups of water each day, while men should aim for 16 cups. Here are some practical tips to help you drink more water throughout the day!
Make drinking water the easy choice by keeping a water bottle within reach all the time. Whether you’ve just woken up, studying at your desk, or out on a walk, having water readily available makes it easy to sip throughout the day.
If you're tired of plain water, try infusing it with fruits and herbs for a refreshing change. Some delicious combinations include blackberries with mint or strawberries with basil. You could also opt for carbonated water if you prefer some fizz.
Consciously set a daily hydration goal and track your intake to achieve it. Use a water reminder app or partner with a friend to stay accountable to your goals.
Use a water bottle with a straw! This might seem silly, but you’re more likely to swallow more at a time when you drink from a straw compared to sipping directly from the bottle. It's also more convenient, as you don't have to reopen or unscrew your bottle every time you want a sip.
