Recipe adapted from thehealthymaven.com
Ingredients
1 3/4 cup red lentils
1/4 cup dried onion flakes
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp sea salt
1 bay leaves
Instructions
In a large pot, add the mason jar contents and 7 cups of water.
Bring mixture to a boil then let simmer with the top on for 20 minutes.
Remove lid and allow the mixture to simmer for about 10-15 minutes more. During this time, the lentils should become tender. Note* Some jars have regular lentils instead of red lentils. Please allow for some additional time for these lentils.
Feel free to add chopped kale, chard or other greens in last 5 minutes of cooking for a veggie boost.
Spice up the dish with your choice of toppings, and enjoy!
